Certified EKG Technician

CET (NHA) is a portable industry credential issued by the National Healthcareer Association — Certified EKG Technician. It is recognised by employers wherever the work is done, independent of the school that trained you.

It proves that the holder passed a two-hour exam against NHA's published standard after completing an EKG training program (or 1-2 years of supervised work) and performing at least 10 EKGs on live patients.

At VoTechWorks the credential is earned inside the programs that carry it (EKG Technician): the universal core, one competency course per curriculum area with a written exam, an observed skills demonstration and a signed log each, a capstone, a clinical practicum, then exam preparation and the credential exam itself.

It leads to entry-level employment in Health & Personal Services, counts toward the next credential on the stackable pathway, and is the first line on the résumé an employer reads.
